The Museum of Cultural Heritage was opened on May 29th, 1999. The selection of the Museum held in 8 exposition halls is situated in an old restored house. The building is the memorial dated to the end of 18th century- the beginning of 19th century. The old Kyiv house in the very center of Pechersk became the "family home" of those famous members of Ukrainian Diaspora who had been working abroad for many years. The exposition deals with the life and creativity of composers, choir masters, writers, poets, choreographers and singers. Most of them were born in Kiyv, got education here and had been working in the city for a long time. It became possible only in Independent Ukraine that they and their creative achievements are known not only to the specialists but the great number of connoisseurs of Ukrainian culture. There are the canvases of such well-known Ukrainian painters as L.Morosowa (USA),  O.Bulavitsky (USA),   M.Krychevsky (France),   T.Messak and  V.Savchak (Australia),  V.Krychevsky  and  K.Krychevska-Rosandich (USA). One can get to know about the life and creativity of such writers and poets as D.Humanna (USA),   O.Hay-Holowko (Canada),  H.Cherin (the USA),  B.Olexandriv (Canada),  B.Kowalenko (Australia) . Kyiv gave birth to two outstanding personalities of world culture: the ballet-master and dancer S.Lifar and the pianist-virtuoso V.Horovits. Now visiting the Museum halls Ukrainian people are able to get acquanted with facts from their lives and creative activity. It is far not the complete list of the names which one will learn coming to the Museum.

The main purpose of the work of the Museum of Cultural Heritage is to fill in the blanks in the history of Ukraine, to return the rich national heritage of Ukraine's sons and daughters to the Motherland and find its viewers and connoisseurs.
