The CrossWord program serves to make crossword puzzles. Intuitive and the convenient interface make your task much easier. All of the necessary instruments are at hand.The toolbars and floating windows can be put in any convenient place, the context-sensitive help is available in any difficult situation.

Except standard functions of drawing and moving of words, you can use the symmetry operations, automatic selection of words and definitions. If you do not like automatic compilation of puzzles, you can do it all yourself from creating a grid to adding your own words and definitions. The choice is yours.

CrossWord contains the built - in dictionary. The dictionary is divided into three main categories: common lexicon, own names and geography. A special Vocedit program that works with the dictionaries is supplied. With its help you can easily modify an existing dictionary or create a new one. All new words and definitions will be saved in the dictionary during the compilation of a crossword puzzle. The database of definitions is also editable by MS Access.

The document in the editor window can be magnified to see the details or reduced to see its larger part. Print preview allows seeing how the printed out document will look.

The resulting crossword puzzles can be exported into various publishing systems, graphics and text editors. You can export a puzzle as HTML, BMP or the metafile.

If it is necessary to create a new document rapidly, use the Wizard. The wizard is a special feature of CrossWord. It creates a puzzle being guided by your answers. Usually it is the fastest way of creating a crossword puzzle.

Vocedit serves to edit dictionaries.

The dictionary of the program CrossWord consists of two files "*.wrd" and "*.mdb". The first file contains the list of words, and the second one the list of definitions. Vocedit allows to edit both files simultaneously. Besides it, the program allows to search for words by masks, thus being useful to crossword puzzle makers and solvers. Main features of the program include the possibility to import a text file with words and their definitions and to sort words by size or alphabetically.
