ANNOUNCEMENT
NATO ADVANCED RESEARCH WORKSHOP 16-20 SEPTEMBER, 2001 ,YALTA , UKRAINE
NEW TRENDS IN SUPERCONDUCTIVITY (NTS-2001 )
CO-DIRECTORS:
James Annett (University of Bristol, United Kingdom )
Sergei Kruchinin (Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics, Ukraine)
INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE :
R.Laughlin (Stanford, USA)
I.Yanson (Kharkov, Ukraine)
ARW is supported by NATO.
Co-sponsor is Ministry of Ukraine for Education and Science.
The main objective of this Advanced Research Workshop is to address the key topics in superconductivity research which are emerging at the opening of the new millennium. These topics include novel superconducting materials, such as MgB2, new materials with exotic pairing symmetry, such as ruthenates, and the possible mechanisms of high Tc cuprate superconductivity, such as magnetic fluctuations polarons or stripes. Also of interest are novel possible applications of superconductivity, such as phase or charge coherent devices for quantum computing. Vortex matter physics is also of great current interest. This workshop will bring together experts in all of these fields of superconductivity, with plenty of time for in-depth discussions of these topics.
